As a pilot initiative, TNULM has created an exclusive mentoring platform to mentor TNULM SHGs. As part of the initiative, 1 SHG is chosen per district every month (Chennai to mentor 3 SHG Enterprises). At the end of the year, around 500 SHGs Enterprises will be mentored in 12 month time frame. Each TNULM APO is tasked with being individually responsible for undertaking the as-is assessment of SHG enterprise, preparing business intervention plans, tracking the performance of SHG enterprise, supporting them in the interventions and acting as an anchor for the SHG in the district and in the mentor group.

The initiative aims to bring a measurable difference in the income potential of TNULM Urban SHG Enterprises and if plan fails, it is an opportunity for learning. TNULM APOs are responsible for documenting current status, interventions by TNULM team and results thereof.
